    Case Manager
    tenzin@cianainc.org

Tenzin serves as a Case Manager in the Child Welfare Preventive Services program providing case management services to immigrant families in several languages.

During the last six years, while running a private business and working at a bank, Tenzin served his community by teaching survival English courses for non-English speaking Tibetans, and teaching Tibetan to young American-born Tibetans. Tenzin also taught civics test preparation courses for Tibetans who were in the process of becoming naturalized American citizens, and assisted many in his community with the asylum application process. In addition, he worked as a volunteer interpreter for New York Law School’s clinic clients from Tibet, and is an independent interpreter for Language Services Associates (LSA).

Tenzin received his B.A. in Asian Studies and Economics from the State University at Albany, NY. Tenzin was born in Lhasa, Tibet, and raised in India and the United States. While his native language is Tibetan, he is fluent in conversational Hindi, Mandarin, Nepali and Urdu.
