CIANA is excited to announce the support of New York State Assembly Member Michael DenDekker for the 2020 fiscal year through a grant of $10,000.
“I was proud to work with the leadership in the State Assembly to secure funding in this year’s budget to allocate $10,000 to CIANA,” said the assembly member. “Providing services to recent immigrants is crucial for our community, and CIANA has an excellent track record of lifting up immigrants and giving them an opportunity to better themselves. I am honored to continue partnering with CIANA to help our neighbors.”
The assembly member, who serves the districts of Jackson Heights, Woodside, and East Elmhurst, hosted a CIANA Know Your Rights presentation at P.S. 149 in Jackson Heights to educate the community on what to do if approached by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). CIANA looks forward to future collaborations with the assembly member.
