We at CIANA are happy to report that #GivingTuesdayNow was a success. We were grateful to see so many members of the community show their support for the immigrant community in Queens.
Together, we raised just over $4,000. While we didn’t have a set goal for this Giving Tuesday, it still exceeded our expectations. In these times when everyone is suffering an economic hit due to the pandemic, and when many people’s ability to give financially has diminished, we were impressed to see so much giving.
CIANA will still be open through the duration of New York’s lockdown, which will remain in place at least through June 6. The support we received on May 5 will enable to continue to provide online tutoring, ESL and Civics classes, and remote legal and case management services not only during that time, but in the future when we return to in-person activity.
